Impaired driving charge laid

An alleged drunk driver has been charged after a vehicle was found in a ditch in the area of Mull Road in Harwich Township.

Officers responded to a complaint on Friday.

Police said a 29-year-old Chatham man suspected of being impaired by alcohol was taken to headquarters following an investigation.

He was charged and later released from police custody pending a future court date.

Arrests made following break-in

A woman arrested in connection to a break-in was allegedly found with suspected fentanyl.

Chatham-Kent police said officers were called Friday about a break and enter in the area of Houston Street in Chatham.

A 36-year-old Chatham man and a 49-year-old Chatham woman were both arrested after they were allegedly found with stolen property. However, the Chatham woman was also allegedly found with suspected fentanyl.

Police said she was held for a bail hearing while the Chatham man was released with a future court date.

Crash in Tilbury claims driver's life

Chatham-Kent police reported a 44-year-old man driving a pickup truck was killed in the crash at Jeanettes Creek Road and Coutts Line around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

CK police charge woman with assault

According to Chatham-Kent police, the victim was walking around King Street East in Chatham when she was approached by a woman she didn't know and struck in the face.
