Splash pads in Chatham-Kent will be open on Friday, just in time for some hot temperatures this weekend.
The municipality has been waiting for the go ahead from the province and made the much-anticipated announcement on Wednesday.
Mayor Darrin Canniff told CKMornings with Chris, Jen and Matt that all splash pads will be open on Friday with two possible exceptions.
Mayor Canniff said water test results for the splash pad at Kingston Park in Chatham have not arrived yet to ensure it's safe for the children to play in and a mechanical problem with the splash pad at Mitchell's Bay Park is being fixed.
"Kingston Park, we're just waiting on a water test and if it comes back clean it will open on Friday. In Mitchell's Bay, there's a mechanical issue. But both of them we're hoping are open on Friday as well," said Canniff.

The washrooms will be open where they are available but change rooms will not be open at this time.
Municipal officials remind the public that social distancing is required for anyone outside of your immediate household and people should leave a two metre distance where possible while at the splash pads.
Daily high temperatures are expected to hit the 30-plus Celsius mark this weekend.
