Active COVID cases down 15, but another death reported

Lambton Public Health reported another COVID-19 related death Tuesday.

The health unit said an individual in their 70s passed away in hospital, bringing the local death toll since the pandemic began to 58.

Lambton Public Health reported just one new confirmed case over the past 24 hours, for a total of 3,411.

The number of cases considered resolved went up by 15 to 3,280, which means active infections dropped from 88 to 73.

Cases involving variants of concern have climbed to 525 since March 3.

There are two active outbreaks at unnamed businesses and two institutional outbreaks.

Bluewater Health had 12 COVID-positive patients in hospital, unchanged from Monday.
