30 additional COVID-19 cases in London-area

London-Middlesex logged another 30 cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

The latest cases bring the overall regional case count to 5,642. Daily case counts have now been below 50 in the region for a week straight.

Four additional recoveries were also reported by local health officials on Saturday. So far, 3,787 individuals in the London-area have recovered from the virus since the pandemic began.

There were no new deaths recorded on Saturday with the death toll sitting at 175.

There remain 12 active institutional outbreaks in the region. The latest outbreak was declared on Wednesday within Kensington Village Retirement.

In Elgin and Oxford, there were 12 new COVID-19 infections recorded Saturday.

Elsewhere, health officials in Ontario reported 2,063 additional cases on Saturday, 73 new deaths and 2,623 more resolved cases.
