Active COVID outbreaks down three in Sarnia-Lambton

The number of active COVID-19 outbreaks in Sarnia-Lambton is down three over the past 24 hours.

Lambton Public Health's updated COVID-19 figures Saturday show nine active outbreaks, down from 12 Friday.

The health unit also reported 15 new cases Saturday, bringing the total caseload to 1,751.

The number of recovered cases is up 30 over the past 24 hours and the death-toll of 35 is unchanged, dropping the active cases to 175.

Bluewater Health is reporting 11 COVID-positive patients in hospital.

Sarnia-Lambton's most recent weekly case rate of 289 per 100,000 is the second highest in the province, only trailing Windsor-Essex at 304 cases per 100,000.

The provincial average for the week of January 10 to 16 is 142 per 100,000.
