One new COVID-19 death in London-area

The number of deaths related to COVID-19 in the London-area now sits at 80 after one new fatality was reported on Sunday.

Updated figures released by the Middlesex London Health Unit show that the latest death was a woman in her 60s who was not associated with a long-term care or retirement home.

There were also 23 new COVID-19 cases reported in the London-area on Sunday. The total number of cases is now at 2,068.

Meanwhile, 34 new cases were listed as being resolved on Sunday, with the number of recoveries in the region now at 1,701.

Southwestern Public Health, the health unit covering St. Thomas, Woodstock and Elgin and Oxford counties, reported 14 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours. Since the start of the pandemic, the region has recorded a total of 735 cases.

Province-wide, the case count reached 140,181 on Sunday with public health officials in Ontario confirming 1,677 new cases.
