Windsor-Essex records 42 additional COVID-19 cases

It's another day of double-digit new COVID-19 numbers in Windsor-Essex.

Local health authorities reported 42 new cases on Sunday.

Of the latest cases, 19 are from close contact of a confirmed case, 18 are still being investigated, three are local health care workers, one is community-acquired and one is a farm worker.

The local case count is now at 3,290. Since the pandemic began, 77 people have passed away in Windsor-Essex from the virus and 2,938 have recovered.

There are currently three long-term care homes, one retirement home, one workplace and two schools in COVID-19 outbreak. There is also one community outbreak reported at a residence at the Univerity of Windsor.

Across Ontario, provincial health officials reported 1,534 new cases of the virus on Sunday, 14 new deaths and 1,429 recoveries.
