2021 Canada Summer Games postponed due to COVID-19

The 2021 Canada Summer Games have been postponed due to COVID-19.

In a recent release, the Canada Games Council (CGC) and the 2021 Canada Games Host Society said they are moving the games due to the continued uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, and to ensure the safety of the athletes and staff involved.

The games were originally scheduled to take place in August 2021 in Niagara and they will be rescheduled to the summer of 2022, hopefully still in Niagara region.

The Canada Summer Games is held every two years and is a marquee event for amateur sport in the country, typically bringing over 5,000 athletes and 4,000 volunteers.
