Woman hospitalized after near drowning

A woman had to be rushed to hospital after she was pulled unconscious from the water at Rondeau Provincial Park.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Thursday at around 2:15 p.m., emergency crews responded to Lakeshore Road after the 48-year-old woman fell off an inflatable raft and failed to resurface.

Onlookers on the shore were able to swim out to assist the woman and perform CPR. Emergency responders continued to conduct CPR before she was taken to hospital by ambulance in critical condition.

No further information about the woman or her condition has been released.
