The Provincial Junior Hockey League has set a tentative date for their safe return to play for the 2020-21 season.
December 1st has been selected as the tentative restart date, which is subject to change as the PJHL looks for approvals from the government, local health officials, and Hockey Canada authorities.
The league, which is the largest in Ontario, is looking to play a 24 game regular season and Schmaltz Cup playoffs, with rumours that the league will host a Memorial Cup style format with the final 4 teams.
"Collectively, our members have worked diligently to be prepared for a safe return to competition when possible," says PJHL Chair Sandra Neubauer in a release on August 25th. "By setting a targeted start date, we are supporting our players, teams, and communities to effectively plan to resume the game."
