Windsor men arrested in Chatham-Kent
A 22-year-old Windsor man who was ordered to stay away from a Chatham-Kent woman is accused of going to her home and locking her inside of a bedroom.
Police said officers were called about a domestic dispute at a residence in Tilbury on Tuesday afternoon.
The man eventually unlocked the bedroom door, which allowed the woman to leave.
He was arrested and charged with forcible confinement and failing to comply with his release conditions.
In a separate case, a 33-year-old Windsor man, wanted for domestic-related offences, was arrested on Tuesday after he was found hiding in a hotel room in Chatham.
Police were notified on Tuesday of the man's whereabouts.
It's alleged the 33-year-old was in the room with a woman he was previously ordered to not communicate with. Officers found him hiding behind some curtains in the room.
He was arrested and charged with three counts of failing to comply with his release conditions. ------
Alleged shoplifter arrested
A man accused of stealing two pairs of work boots from TSC on St. Clair Street in Chatham has been arrested.
The shoplifting incident was reported to police on Sunday. The boots were valued at $420.
At the time, the suspect was also allegedly with a woman he was ordered not to communicate with.
A 39-year-old Harwich Township man was arrested on Tuesday night and charged with theft under $5,000, being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000, and failing to comply with his release conditions. He has a future court date set for September 16.
