Heat warning issued for southwestern Ontario

Hot and humid weather is expected to make a brief return this weekend, according to forecasters.

Environment Canada issued a heat warning across the majority of southern Ontario on Saturday. Daytime temperatures between 32-34 C are predicted for Sunday, with evening temperatures expected to hover between 22-25 C  providing little relief.

Similar weather conditions are expected on Monday. However, the surge in temperature should be short-lived when cooler, less humid air arrives on Tuesday.

To reduce the risk of heat-related illness, the weather agency advises the public to take precautions while outdoors by scheduling activities during the cooler parts of the day, to take breaks in a cool place while working outside, and to drink plenty of water before feeling thirsty.
