Police investigating pair of collisions

A driver has been charged with careless driving after a car was found flipped on its roof in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said the car collided with a parked vehicle on Delaware Avenue just south of McNaughton Avenue shortly before 1 p.m. on Friday.

Police Public Information Officer Constable Renee Cowell said the driver only suffered minor injuries.

Meanwhile, emergency crews responded to a crash in Tilbury Friday morning after a transport truck veered off the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 and crashed through a fence surrounding Autoliv Incorporated near Mill Street West and Highway 401.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. An investigation is underway to determine what happened.

Chatham-Kent police reported a 44-year-old man driving a pickup truck was killed in the crash at Jeanettes Creek Road and Coutts Line around 6 p.m. Tuesday.
