Fire officials said one firefighter was taken to hospital by EMS "for precautionary checks due to the punishing high heat conditions," adding he was released home Tuesday evening. A dog also died as a result of the fire.

Pain Court Line between Winter Line Road and Jacob Road was closed to traffic as emergency crews respond to an active house fire.

The Ontario Fire Marshal's Office has been called to investigate the cause of the fire alongside CK fire investigators.
