With families spending more time at home, Huron County fire chiefs have sent out safety reminders to lower the risk of fires.
They recommend keeping matches and lighters away from kids, charging cell phones on hard surfaces, and avoiding extension cords when possible.
They also advise staying in the kitchen while you cook, taking your smoking outside, and making sure your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are in proper working order.
They also suggest practicing a home fire escape plan with everyone in your home.
If you are still going to work, continue to check fire extinguishers and practice fire drills with employees.
