No visitors at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare

Visitors will not be allowed at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare as of Saturday in an effort to prevent a possible spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The only patients who will be allowed visitors are those who require end-of-life care. These patients are limited to one visitor at a time. No one under the age of 18 will be allowed to visit.

The hospital is working with its Patient and Family Advisory Council and has created a dedicated phone line to answer questions from patients and families. Questions can be left at 519-257-5111 ext. 74747.

The hospital is also in the process of establishing a team to provide companionship and support for patients and exploring ways to connect patients to their families through technology.

Television services are now being offered free of charge to all patients.

As of Friday evening, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Windsor-Essex, however, more than 300 people across Ontario have tested positive for the virus.
