City of Windsor facilities remain open

Based on the current advice of the local health authority surround the COVID-19 outbreak, all City of Windsor and Essex County facilities will remain open at this time.

The only exception is the EarlyOn Centres which will close between March 14 and April 5, 2020, to align with the school board closures.

Adventure Bay will remain open but only 250 people will be allowed at the facility at one time. Hours of operation will be adjusted to allow for two sessions every day. City staff say enhanced cleaning measures will take place.

March Break day camps will continue as scheduled. If any parent wishes to withdraw their child refunds will be given.

The City of Windsor is also implementing special measures at the Huron Lodge nursing home.

  • Access to Huron Lodge will be limited to the main entrance
  • All staff, visitors, and residents entering the home will be screened
  • Only staff and essential personnel will be given access to the home
  • Visitation will be limited to one visitor per resident at a time
  • Palliative care residents visitation will be expanded to allow for two visitors
  • Visitor restrictions will be reviewed on an individual case for compassionate grounds.
The Town of Essex has cancelled all upcoming public skates and swims until further notice.  However, March Break and other non-drop-in programs will continue to run as scheduled.

The Town of Tecumseh says Tecumseh Arena remains open with March Break programming still being offered. Attendance control measures will be put in place during public skating to limit the number of attendees to 250 or less at a time.

The Municipality of Leamington’s facilities will remain open and scheduled programming at the Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Complex will continue.

All services and facilities in the Town of Kingsville will also remain open at this time.
