UPDATE: Teen located safe after abduction

After almost 24 hours, a 14-year-old boy who was the subject of an Amber Alert has been located.

The Toronto police said late Thursday evening that Shammah Jolayemi has been located and is safe. He will be taken for a medical checkup, police added.

An Amber Alert was issued for Jolayemi shortly after midnight on Thursday morning after he was last seen in North York the previous morning.

During a press conference a few hours before Jolayemi was located, police said the teen was abducted as retribution for an unpaid drug debt after his step-brother allegedly ripped off 100-kilos of cocaine worth $4 million. Police said at the time that they were extremely concerned for his safety.

Two suspects are believed to have been involved in the teen's abduction. They are described as being between 18 and 22 years old. They were last seen wearing black jackets and bandanas on their heads. They also may be driving newer black Jeep Wrangler with tinted windows and fog lights on a bush bar.

Toronto police said further updates will be provided during a news conference on Friday.
