Gateway Casinos and Entertainment has announced there will be a change at the helm after a proposed financial restructuring.
The restructuring will see Gateway merge with Leisure Acquisition Corp. to create a publicly-traded company valued at nearly $1.5 billion.
Current Gateway chief executive Tony Santo will retire and be replaced as CEO and president by Marc Falcone.
Falcone has held a variety of executive positions at U.S. gaming and hospitality companies for more than a decade.
Gateway operates the Starlight Casino in Point Edward, Cascades Casino in Chatham and will manage the slot machines at Sarnia's Hiawatha Horse Park, which are set to return in the new year.
Gateway has significantly expanded its footprint in the past five years.
The company now has 25 properties across Ontario and British Columbia, up from 10 in 2015.
