The Chatham-Kent Association of Realtors is welcoming in a new board of directors while also strengthening relationships within the community.
With the endorsement of the local association, the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre has been awarded a $2,600 grant from the Ontario Realtors Care Foundation. The grant announcement was made during the association's annual holiday luncheon.
Also announced was the new board of directors for 2020. Michael Gibbons will be the new president of the Chatham-Kent Association of Realtors. Other board members include Steve Carroll, past president; Laura Tourangeau, president-elect; and Amber Pinsonneault, vice president. The directors include Peter Allaer, Carrie Patrick, Brandy Robertson, Crystal Robinson, and Jim Kovacs.
Gibbons said he looks forward to future opportunities as he steps into his new role.
"Technology is rapidly changing the future of real estate. This is not a time to look back," said Gibbons in a statement. "As a board, we want to strengthen our partnerships with the municipality and the public, and remain the trusted voice of advocacy for our membership.”
The local association of realtors also donated $1,900 along with 50 bags of groceries to Outreach for Hunger during the luncheon. Other organizations to receive contributions this year include Chatham Hope Haven and New Beginnings ACI Brain and Stroke Recovery Association.
