Ridgetown teen charged with assault
A 14-year-old Ridgetown boy is scheduled to appear in court in the new year in connection with an alleged assault at a convenience store in Chatham.
Police said they were called to the business on McNaughton Avenue East sometime Tuesday for a "disturbance between two boys."
Officers said a 14-year-old Chatham youth was taken to the hospital for medical attention and a 14-year-old Ridgetown youth was arrested and charged.
The accused was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Thieves make off with thousands of dollars worth of tools
Chatham-Kent police are investigating a break-in at a construction trailer in Shrewsbury and they could use your help.
Officers said the trailer was parked on Adelaide Street and they believe it was broken into sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.
Police said whoever broke in, took off with about $10,000 worth of DeWalt tools.

Electronics, marijuana targeted during apartment break-in
Chatham-Kent police are working to track down some leads after someone broke into an unlocked apartment on Coverdale Street in Chatham and stole about $3,500 worth of electronics, Canadian currency, and marijuana.
Officers said the incident took place sometime between 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and 12:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Two e-bikes reported stolen in Chatham
Police are appealing to the public for tips as they try to recover two e-bikes that were reported stolen from a residence on Sandys Street in Chatham.
Officers said they are both "Geo" brand bikes and they were taken sometime on Monday.
One of them is black and orange and the other is blue and purple and has a trailer hitch attached to it.
The e-bikes have a combined estimated value of $1,500.

Bicycle stolen from Chatham business
If you know anything about a bicycle being stolen from a business on Queen Street in Chatham this week, police would like to hear from you.
Investigators said someone broke into the business sometime late Monday or early Tuesday morning and took off with a blue men’s CCM mountain bike that belongs to a tenant who lives upstairs.
The bike is valued at approximately $600.

Chatham woman accused of stealing from Walmart
A 42-year-old Chatham woman is facing a pair of charges after police were called to the Walmart in Chatham for a shoplifting complaint Tuesday morning.
Officers said the woman was arrested and charged with theft and possession of property obtained by crime.
She was later released pending a future court date.
