Drug possession charge laid against Chatham man
A 40-year-old Chatham man is facing drug-related charges after he was allegedly found in a parking lot with a loaded syringe containing methamphetamine.
Police said the 40-year-old had been under several court-ordered conditions, one of which was to not possess or consume unlawful drugs. Officers spotted the man in a parking lot on Wellington Street in Chatham on Thursday morning, just before noon. It's alleged that the man had been under the influence of drugs.
The 40-year-old has since been charged with drug possession and failing to comply with his release conditions.

Wallaceburg apartment ransacked
Chatham-Kent police are investigating a break-in at an apartment unit on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.
Police said the break-in happened sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon. The suspects "ransacked" the apartment and caused approximately $700 worth of damages.

Wanted Windsor woman arrested
A 31-year-old woman from Windsor who had been wanted for possession of a stolen credit card, breaching conditions, and failing to attend court has been arrested.
Officers said she was transported back to Chatham-Kent Thursday afternoon. She has since been released with a future court date.

Wanted man turns himself in
A 30-year-old man from Walpole Island, wanted for domestic-related offences has turned himself in.
Police said the man has been charged with assault, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, mischief under $5,000, break and enter, and failing to comply.

Charges laid in theft and traffic incidents
Impaired driving and theft charges have been laid against a 29-year-old man from Walpole Island.
Chatham-Kent police said the 29-year-old had been arrested Thursday night as he was wanted in connection with a traffic stop in Chatham and a shoplifting incident from the Walmart in Wallaceburg.
He has since been charged with impaired driving, theft under $5,000, and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.
