Large amount of fuel stolen from two Chatham-Kent businesses

Chatham-Kent police are looking for possible suspects after almost 4,000 litres of fuel was stolen from two local businesses.

According to police, the thefts happened sometime Monday night.

Investigators said in the first case, unknown suspects made their way into the Ridgetown Feed and Supply Store and cut a fuel line, eventually taking off with 700 litres of fuel.

In a similar but separate call, police attended a business on Bothwell Street in Chatham Monday night where suspects allegedly cut the fuel line and took 3,000 litres of fuel.

Police have yet to find the people responsible for the thefts.
