Free transportation offered to beach-goers

Sunny and warm weather over the long weekend should make for perfect beach days in Chatham-Kent.

To make things more convenient for beach-goers over the Civic Holiday long weekend, the municipality is offering free rides on their Seasonal Inter-Urban Transit Route (S1) -- also referred to as the Beach Bus.

Free bus rides will be offered from Friday until Monday and buses will be operational from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.

According to Environment Canada's forecast, it will be sunny Friday through Monday with daytimes highs ranging from 28 C to 31 C.

The Beach Bus serves Chatham, Erieau and Mitchell’s Bay with stops in Grande Pointe, Pain Court, Charing Cross, and Blenheim.

This is the 10th year the municipality has opted for free bus rides to the beach over the Civic Holiday weekend.

Although free rides will be offered over the next few days, the Beach Bus will continue to operate on weekends until Labour Day.

Route maps and schedules are available at municipal service centres or online at cktransit.ca
