Finger gun pointer arrested in Chatham
Chatham-Kent police are pointing the finger at a 36-year-old Chatham man after he allegedly threatened a convenience store employee.
Police said the man is accused of threatening the woman at a store on Grand Avenue in Chatham around 3 p.m. Tuesday by pretending to shoot her with a "finger gun."
Officers said a short time later, the man jumped out from behind a garbage bin and yelled "boom" after the woman went to the back of the store to throw out some trash.
Police were able to track him down and arrested him in connection with the case.
He was charged with uttering threats and was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Teen throws tantrum, rocks at grandpa's truck
An 18-year-old Chatham man is charged with mischief after allegedly throwing some rocks at his grandfather's truck after an argument Tuesday evening.
Police said the man got into an argument with some family members at around 6 p.m. Tuesday and then went to a nearby parking lot where he allegedly damaged the truck.
The accused was charged and taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Vehicle stolen, then recovered overnight
It could be considered a crime of convenience.
Chatham-Kent police said a vehicle that was stolen from a residence in Chatham at around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday still had the key in the ignition.
The woman who was driving the car left the key in it as she brought her child into the residence, and a man who was in the area at the time reportedly jumped at the opportunity, hopping in the vehicle before taking off.
Police said officers flooded the area and found the vehicle at a nearby convenience store.
A 22-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property in connection with the incident. He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Police pull four vehicles off the road for safety reasons
Four vehicles were taken out of service during a traffic enforcement safety blitz in Wallaceburg.
The local police service teamed up with members of the Ministry of Transportation and Ontario Provincial Police for the initiative Tuesday.
In total, 19 inspections were carried out, which led to four motor vehicles being pulled off the road and four sets of plates being removed from defects noted to those commercial vehicles.
Police also laid 37 charges in connection with various vehicle maintenance and driver conditions.
