Strathroy-Caradoc police investigating serious crash on Longwoods Road

A 46-year-old Bothwell man is being treated for critical injuries in a London hospital after he was involved in an early morning crash just outside of Delaware.

Strathroy-Caradoc police said they were called in by Middlesex-London EMS at around 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 16 to investigate a single-vehicle crash on Longwoods Road at Cooks Road.

Police said the vehicle hit a tree and one person was trapped inside. Fire crews were able to get the man out safely before paramedics rushed him to the hospital.

An OPP collision reconstruction team was called in to help police with their investigation and determined that the silver 2003 Honda Civic was heading west on Longwoods Road before the crash.

Police are now appealing to the public for tips as the investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Strathroy Caradoc Police Service 519-245-1250 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).

Officers said the man's name is not being released at this time.
