Police seek suspect in bear spray attack

Chatham-Kent police are looking for a suspect after a man used bear spray during an attempted theft in Chatham.

Police said a man went into a business, located on Richmond Street, Tuesday morning around 6 a.m.

The man is accused of using bear spray directed towards an employee in an attempt to steal a laptop.

Police said the suspect left before officers arrived at the scene but he left behind a GT bike. Police describe the man as being approximately 100-150 pounds, with a tattoo with cursive writing on his neck. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt with plaid shorts.
