The founder of Build The Complex CK, an advocacy group dedicated to bringing a new multi-million dollar arena to the region, will not face criminal charges after an investigation for fraud.
On May 28, Nathan Trudell was subject to a police investigation after new ownership at the Southern Ontario Motor Speedway accused him of posing as an employee to try and attract advertising dollars.
On Monday, Renee Cowell, the public information officer with the Chatham-Kent Police Service, said the investigation is over and added the dispute has been deemed a civil matter.
Plans for the new arena, which Trudell is proposing, includes seating for roughly 4,500 people and would be located on the former Navistar Property. The group has suggested that the complex should be built with the intention of hosting events and concerts, not just hockey games.
