Youths identified in banana, water bottle tossing incidents

Four local youths have been referred to Restorative Justice Chatham-Kent after several objects were thrown from a school bus into oncoming traffic.

Chatham-Kent police said the youths were identified as part of an investigation that started in April when four different motorists reported their vehicles had been hit by items thrown by students who were riding a school bus in Dover Township.

Officers said they were able to identify the youths responsible for damaging the vehicles and spoke to each of them along with their parents about their dangerous behaviour.

No injuries were reported as a result of any of the incidents.

Police said all four of the youths have been referred to a local extrajudicial measures program.
