The Chatham Maroons will try to play the spoiler as they head to Leamington to take on the Flyers Thursday night.
The game is Chatham's second last regular season contest and won't have any effect on where the Maroons finish in the standings, but it could make a difference for the Flyers, who are still in a battle with the London Nationals for first place in the GOJHL's Western Conference.
With 61 points through 46 games, the Maroons are a lock to finish third, setting up a first-round matchup with the Komoka Kings, who can finish no higher and no lower than sixth place. You can find Chatham's first-round playoff schedule posted below.
The Flyers (68 points in 46 games) are clinging to a one-point lead atop the Western Conference standings ahead of the Nationals (67 points in 47 games) and could secure home-ice advantage throughout the conference's playoffs if they beat Chatham.
Leamington has also been dominant at home, posting a league-leading 15-game home win streak and boasting a 22-1-0-0 record at the Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Complex. Their only blemish in that building was a 6-4 loss to London back on October 25, 2018.
