CK Hospice receives $5K donation

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 642 in Chatham is giving a $5,000 donation to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.

According to the Executive Director of Chatham-Kent Hospice, Jodi Maroney, the funds will be used primarily for ongoing operating expenses such as providing meals to patients and visitors, covering the cost of utilities and overall maintenance of the building.

“It’s because of generous donations like this one from the Legion, that we are able to offer end-of-life care at no cost to families in our community," said Maroney.

Since opening nearly three years ago, Chatham-Kent Hospice has cared for over 550 families from across the municipality.
