Trio arrested on outstanding warrants
Chatham-Kent police have arrested three different Chatham men in their 20s who were all wanted for a variety of offences.
Police said they caught up with a 29-year-old man at the courthouse Wednesday morning and arrested him on two counts of assault. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.
In the other two cases, a 20-year-old man was arrested for failing to attend court Wednesday morning and a 28-year-old man who was wanted for failing to attend a fingerprinting appointment and a court date was arrested after police saw him riding a bicycle in Chatham Wednesday night.

Tools stolen from sheds near Cedar Springs
Chatham-Kent police are trying to track down some tools that were stolen from a pair of sheds in the Blenheim-area over the past couple of days.
Officers said one of the sheds was on Water Street while the other was on Erieau Road. The tools that were stolen from the first location have an estimated combined value of $2,000 -- some more tools, and air compressor, and a generator were stolen from the second shed.

Police are also asking members of the public to keep their eyes open and to report any suspicious activity so that an officer can investigate it as soon as possible.

Watch for wildlife on the roads
Police are reminding drivers to keep an eye out for deer on the roads, especially during dawn and dusk hours.
Officers are issuing that reminder after responding to two separate crashes involving deer between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Police said the first incident took place on Charing Cross Road while the second was on Longwoods Road. In both cases, no injuries were reported to the drivers.
Officers have also issued the following safety tips for drivers who may be on the road while the sun is coming up or going down:
- Watch your speed - sometimes collisions can be avoided if you have time to slow down
- Scan the road – scanning ahead for animals may help you see them before they cross your path – watch for their reflective eyes and use your high beam headlights when possible
- Slow down, but don’t swerve – if an animal is on the road, brake gently to slow down – do not swerve or make sudden movements to avoid them as it is important that your reaction to avoid wildlife does not endanger yourself or other drivers on the road.
