Erratic driver arrested

CK police stopped an erratic driver on Keil Drive around 3 a.m. Sunday after the vehicle hit a tree turning onto Merritt Avenue.

The officer on site suspected the driver was impaired. He was arrested and brought to police headquarters for a breath test.

The 19-year-old from Chatham has been charged with a BAC exceeding the legal limit and impaired operation of a vehicle. He will be released when sober.

CK police asking drivers to slow down

In the last 24 hours, police responded to numerous vehicle collisions throughout Chatham-Kent. The majority were not serious, with no major injuries reported.

Police are asking drivers to slow down especially in inclement weather.

They're also reminding drivers to put down mobile devices, wear their seatbelts and obey posted speed limits.
