Police Briefs - Tuesday August 28, 2018

Chatham-Kent police are investigating several break-ins that happened in different parts of the municipality.

In one case, police say someone went into an unlocked residence in Tilbury's east end and stole about $1,400 worth of electronics, bowling balls, and gun cases. The theft reportedly happened Monday morning.

In Chatham, someone smashed in a window in order to break into a home. Police say it happened sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday afternoon. A TV, cell phones, and sunglasses were reported stolen, all worth approximately $1,500.

In Raleigh Township, officers say someone cut a fence sometime overnight on Sunday in order to break into a locked compound. There's no word on if anything was taken. However, police say damage to the fence is pegged at around $1,400.

Lastly, in Dover Township, a locked compound was also broken into. Police say the fence was cut, however, there was a "minimum amount of damage".

Four Highway Traffic Act warnings were issued during a RIDE check in Ridgetown.

Police say the spot check was conducted on Ridge Line, Monday night. Out of the 100 vehicles stopped, police say three tests were administered.
