Man Arrested After Pursuit

A driver who did not stop at a stop sign faces charges after a police chase.

Chatham-Kent Police say an officer spotted the errant driver and tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled instead.

When he did stop, he took off on foot.

After a short chase, the officer found him and made an arrest.

A 31-year-old Chatham man is now charged with dangerous driving, fleeing police, driving while suspended, and eight other charges on outstanding warrants.

Those charges are failing to comply with the terms of his probation, failing to comply with recognizance, theft of stolen property, and possession of stolen property.

Man Apprehended Under The Mental Health Act

Chatham-Kent Police responded to a disturbance on Lacroix St. Friday and found a man suffering from a mental condition.

The man was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for treatment.

According to Chatham-Kent police, the victim was walking around King Street East in Chatham when she was approached by a woman she didn't know and struck in the face.
