UPDATE: Drivers Ignore Barricade During Crash Investigation

Chatham-Kent police are investigating a crash in Chatham that has sent a pedestrian to the hospital.

Police say the crash happened on St. Clair St. between Grand Ave. and McNaughton Ave. on Monday. The female pedestrian reportedly suffered non-life threatening injuries but was taken to the hospital.

The area had been closed to traffic for a couple of hours so police could investigate. However, officers noticed some major faults made by drivers.

Police say the barricades didn't stop some drivers from going through the area. Three people have been charged with driving on a closed highway, which comes with a $110 fine and three demerit points.

The area reopened to traffic just before 2pm Monday afternoon.
