Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is breaking with tradition Sunday in Windsor-Essex.
Trudeau will crisscross the country on Canada Day, with his first stop in Leamington.
The prime minister is scheduled to appear at Highbury Canco on Erie St. S. at 10:30am, as part of Leamington's Canada Day celebrations.
According to the itinerary released Saturday by the Prime Minister's Office, Trudeau will participate in the event and deliver remarks.
The Leamington appearance will place Trudeau away from Ottawa and the national Canada Day celebration on Parliament Hill. However, Trudeau is expected to appear on Parliament Hill by video from Leamington.
Trudeau is then expected to head to Saskatchewan, where he will celebrate Canada Day with steelworkers in Regina. He will finish observing Canada's 151st birthday in Dawson City, Yukon, where he will attend a community barbecue.
