Police Confirm Identity Of Dresden Shooting Victim

Chatham-Kent police say the victim of the Dresden Raceway shooting is recovering after being released from hospital.

Police have confirmed that he is 58-year-old Dwayne McFadden from Wallaceburg, who sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound Saturday night. Sources in the horse industry had told BlackburnNewsCK.com on Monday that McFadden was the victim of the shooting.

McFadden was taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and later transferred to a hospital in London. He has since been released from hospital.

The scene was secured and searched by members of the Critical Incident Response Team for public safety. The area was then examined by the Forensic Identification Unit and Traffic Unit using a drone.

Police say the Centre of Forensic Sciences has also been consulted regarding the analysis of evidence.

Detectives will continue to do interviews and canvass the area for witnesses.
