Chatham-Kent police are promising to increase patrols in the Stanley Ave. area near the former Chatham Waterworks building after residents voiced their concerns about drug activity.
Some residents took to social media recently saying the area is a haven for needle users.
Police say the Black Bridge area attracts a lot of foot traffic and it's difficult to patrol but they are committed to increasing their presence and patrols in an effort to reduce criminal activity in the area.
A couple of suspicious fires in the area also remain under investigation. Investigators say no one has been identified yet in any of those suspicious fires.
A shed on Stanley Ave. and the old Water Works building in Chatham went up in flames minutes apart January 31.
