If you have some chicken nuggets in your freezer, you might want to double check the box.
Erie Meat Products Ltd. is recalling Harvest Creek brand chicken nuggets because of a possible Salmonella contamination.
The Public Health Agency of Canada says it's "investigating an outbreak of human illness" related to the recall and members of the public are being warned not to eat the recalled product.
The recall is limited to the Harvest Creek Uncooked Breaded Cutlettes with best before dates of 18-OC-11. The UPC code is 8 29810 93350 2.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says if you think you may have become sick from eating some of the recalled product, you should call your doctor. Short-term symptoms of Salmonella-related illness include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.
The CFIA says the affected products were sold in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Quebec.
