Health Canada Recalls Over 1.5M USB Charger Units

Health Canada is warning residents to check what kind of USB charger they're using as more than 1.5-million units are being recalled due to electric shock and fire hazards.

The federal agency tested a number of uncertified USB chargers as part of a planned national assessment of products. According to Health Canada, several different products were found to pose an "unacceptable risk" of electric shock and fire and have since been recalled.

For a full list of recalled USB chargers, visit Health Canada's website. 

If you own one of the chargers on the list, Health Canada recommends you immediately stop using it and either return it or throw it away.

Residents are recommended to use only certified electrical products.

Certified products can be identified by a recognized certification mark on the product itself, not just the packaging.
