UPDATE: Hwy. 401 Fully Reopened In Chatham

The Hwy. 401 is open again in Chatham after a lengthy closure Monday morning that was caused by some downed power lines.

OPP had shut down the roadway between Bloomfield Rd. and Communication Rd. (Hwy. 40) early Monday, but the westbound lanes of the highway reopened shortly after 10:30am and the Ministry of Transportation is reporting that the eastbound lanes reopened close to 12pm.

Drivers can still expect traffic on the highway to be somewhat congested over the noon-hour.
