Spring arrives in southwestern Ontario at 12:15pm, but residents will not likely notice any difference for a few weeks yet.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says the transition from winter to spring is going to be a slow one.
"It does look like a slow start to spring," he says. "Temperatures staying a little bit cooler than normal at this point in time, probably into the first half of April."
Coulson says the agency is currently tracking a system in the American Midwest that could even bring the region flurries this Saturday. Asked if that will be it for snow, Coulson laughs and says he can not make that promise.
"I wish I could say that was the case but certainly with our continuing forecast -- there may be more in the way of flurry activity after this event on Saturday," Coulson says.
On the upside, he says southwestern Ontario will enjoy lots of sunshine and little in the way of rain over the next few weeks.
