Crash Closes WB Hwy. 401 At Iona Rd.

Provincial police say a truck driver from Kitchener is charged after a transport truck rollover that closed the westbound lanes of Hwy. 401 west of London for several hours.

Around 5:45am, police were called to the rollover near Iona Rd. Police say the westbound truck went out of control and went into the centre median. The driver counter steered, which caused the truck to roll, spilling its load of scrap metal.

No injuries were reported. The truck driver, a 45-year-old man from Kitchener, has been charged with careless driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The westbound lanes were closed at Iona Rd. until about 12:40pm.
