Drug possession and careless driving are only a couple of charges a Toronto driver is facing following a crash on Hwy. 401.
Police say they found a vehicle in the centre median on January 3, near Charing Cross Rd.
Officers followed footprints away from the scene and found the driver, a 29-year-old male, and the passenger, a 23-year-old woman from Barrie.
It's alleged officers could smell marijuana while speaking with the driver.
The Toronto man faces the following charges:

- Three counts of failing to comply with recognizance
- Obstructing a peace officer
- Driving while under suspension
- Careless driving
Meanwhile, the passenger has been charged with possession of a schedule II substance - cannabis marijuana - under 30 grams.
She's set to appear in court February 22, while the driver was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
