Spits Edge Petes 2-1

The Windsor Spitfires scored a close 2-1 victory over the Peterborough Petes on Thursday.

Curtis Douglas scored 12:50 into the first period to give the Spitfires a 1-0 lead heading into the second. The Petes were able to tie things up with a goal in the latter half of the second frame, but Jake Smith scored minutes later to put Windsor back in the lead.

The Spitfires held off Peterborough in a scoreless final period to earn the win.

Spitfires goaltender Michael DiPietro made 32 saves out of 33 shots on net.

The Spits are on the road again on Friday to take on the Frontenacs in Kingston at 7pm.
