Special Weather Statement for Southwestern Ontario

Looks like we'll probably be seeing a white Christmas.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for all of southwestern Ontario for Christmas Eve Sunday, into Monday morning. The statement covers these areas:

  • Windsor - Leamington - Essex County
  • Chatham-Kent - Rondeau Park
  • London - Parkhill - Eastern Middlesex County
  • Strathroy - Komoka - Western Middlesex County
  • Rodney - Shedden - Western Elgin County
  • St. Thomas - Aylmer - Eastern Elgin County
Forecasters are tracking a low-pressure system that will move south of the Great Lakes Sunday evening, bringing another round of measurable snow. Any snow will begin falling Sunday afternoon and continue before tapering off Christmas morning.

General snowfall amounts are expected to be between 5cm and 10cm.

Anyone traveling late Christmas Eve or Christmas morning may experience challenging travel conditions. Stay safe.
