Following the closure of Sears in Chatham's downtown core, a new department store is now set to open to fill the shopping void.
The Downtown Chatham Centre announced on Thursday that a Hart department store will be opening in the local mall sometime in early Spring of 2018.
While it is unknown if the new shopping location will be situated in the former Sears outlet, Chatham residents have a lot to look forward to in terms of selection. Hart stores offer ladies, men’s and children’s fashion with basic apparel lines, as well as a home furnishings, housewares, gift wares, toys, bed and bath, electronics and furniture.
The Hart stores shopping chain began operation back in 1960, and the company currently has 68 stores within Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick.
