Cult Leader Charles Manson Dead

Prison officials in California say former cult leader Charles Manson is dead at the age of 83.

Manson was admitted to hospital over the weekend and died Sunday night of natural causes.

Manson and his band of followers were convicted in the gruesome death of actress Sharon Tate and six others in 1969.

The murders were said to be part of a plan to trigger a race war in the U.S.
