Operation Cover Up Needs Winter Coats

The Salvation Army's Operation Cover Up is looking for donations of gently used winter coats.

"The Chatham-Kent community has always been very supportive," says Captain Karen Holland. "At this time we're asking for donations of gently used, clean, winter coats for children and adults."

This is the first year for Operation Cover Up since the Salvation Army took over the program from the United Way.

Captain Holland says donations will be accepted until November 4.

"They can be taken to any of the Salvation Army Thrift Stores in Chatham, Wallaceburg, or Ridgetown," he says. "Jiffy Lube at 45 Keil Dr. is also collecting for us, and the Information and Help Centre in Tilbury."

The winter coats will be distributed from Tuesday, October 10 until Saturday, November 4, but anyone wanting a winter coat from Operation Cover Up will have to get a coupon.

"The coupons can be obtained at any of the Salvation Army Family Services in Chatham, Blenheim, Ridgetown, or Wallaceburg," says Captain Holland. "You can get them from the Chatham ODSP office, the Employment and Social Services locations, and also the Tilbury Information and Help Centre."
